Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Integrated Marine Ecology – Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn.
A naturalist and marine ecologist, since 2020 he has been working at the Rome headquarters of the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn. His research focuses on marine species at risk of extinction, such as sharks and rays, studying their distribution, abundance, and interactions with fisheries.
He works to promote their proper management and conservation through new analytical approaches, experimental protocols, and tools for fisheries management and ecosystem-based marine planning.
Since 2013, he has been studying the population of great white sharks in the Mediterranean and, since 2021, has been participating in an international project led by Virginia Tech University to monitor their presence in our seas.
Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to work closely with these magnificent predators in various parts of the world, such as South Africa and California.
