An internationally renowned marine biologist and ecologist, he is a Full Professor of Ecology at the Polytechnic University of Marche in Ancona and President of the prestigious Anton Dohrn Zoological Station in Naples. He has published numerous scientific papers in leading journals, including Science and Nature.
Since 2010, he has been listed among the Top Italian Scientists, a ranking compiled by the virtual academic network VIA (Virtual Italian Academy). He also serves as President of the Scientific Committee of WWF Italy.
